August 24, 2018

Your child is officially a Kindergator!

Be sure to ask you student all about today's gator activities.  We have spent the first few weeks learning about rules and routines to help us know how to be a Kindergator.  This week we have been doing research on real alligators.  Let your child tell you all they have learned.  They are carrying home their gator boxes.  Please use these to put in all the books that your child brings home.  This way they can pull the books out and read to you.

This week's highlights on what we have been learning:
  • Reading - Students are practicing identifying the characters, setting, problem and solution in stories.
  • Writing - Learning how to use a graphic organizer to help us remember and write down our information.
  • Math - Rote counting, counting objects, recognizing numbers and practicing writing numerals.
  • S.S. - American Symbols - identifying, comparing and contrasting the American and State flags.
  • Science - Engineers and how they solve problems by asking questions and using math and science.
