the Art Barn     Field Trip Tomorrow

Please have students wear their red Addison t-shirts, shorts and tennis shoes.   They may wear a cap. You might want to put sunscreen on them at home.  We are not allowed to put it on at school.  They may bring a disposable water bottle with their name on it.  Remember if they bring a lunch from home it must be in a zip-lock or paper bag.  It's going to be a fun filled day!

Dear Parents,

We have just under 2 weeks left of AESF's funding drive to support the Science Lab. Addison families have raised just over $22,000 so far but we are only at 20% participation.
If you haven't donated yet, please consider making a donation. All the students benefit and no amount is too small. Help us be the class with the highest participation and reach the goal of $38,000 so you child can see Mrs. Hallmark and Mr. Cohen get Yucky!!! Also, if you donate $500 or more you are automatically entered in a drawing to win 6 Disney tickets, a reserved year around parking spot, and two reserved seats for Gator Gala and Awards Day.

Thank you for your continued support,

Kindergarten does not send home progress reports in the first quarter. We require a bit more time to assess their skills and help them acclimate to school. If you have any concerns or questions about your child's progress, please let us know. We are looking forward to meeting with you for conferences in October to discuss specifics for your child!

           Kindergarten Sink and Float

We had out first STEM lesson today.  The kids were working on a sink and float experiment.  Students worked in cooperative groups to design and build a boat.  Then they tested to see how many bears their boat would hold.  We were discovering the engineering process of  brainstorming ideas, making a design, planning for materials, creating an object, testing it and then evaluating and improving their design.  What a wonderful day!  Check out the photos.
